Meet Ian Support St. Jude with Hammermill

ianMeet Ian 6years old medulloblastoma

Ian was the family’s first grandchild, surrounded by love. He ran, played and filled his home with laughter. At first, when he began to stumble sometimes, his mom, Quimverly, chalked it up to normal childhood play. How could she know he had a brain tumor?

But a trip to the doctor and an MRI revealed the presence of a mass. Surgery to remove the tumor left him in a coma. For 19 heartbreaking days, Quimverly waited for her child to wake up. She researched the best place to treat her son. That search led her to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude has the largest pediatric brain tumor research program in the country and the world’s best survival rates.

At St. Jude, Ian was found to be suffering from medulloblastoma. He has received radiation therapy and chemotherapy. “St. Jude accepts children from all over the world,” said Quimverly. “We haven’t paid one penny, but we still receive the best treatment anyone could give us.”

Ian loves watching movies and playing with his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures. He also loves his hospital. “He thinks St. Jude is a pretty hotel where kids can run and play,” said Quimverly.
