Backwoods Bash

BackWoods Bash

Good Music. Good People. Good Times.

This is the driving philosophy behind the Backwoods Bash Music & Camping Festival. The Memorial Day Weekend event has earned the reputation of showcasing some of the best independent bands in Middle America to create a one-of-a-kind weekend on the shores of Keystone Lake in Prue OK (just 20 minutes outside of Tulsa). The beautiful landscape that surrounds the area allows full access to swimming, boating, fishing and more.

The festival has grown immensely since first being held in 2008 and has evolved into true family-friendly event providing a welcoming atmosphere for people from every walk of life. Aside from great music, attendees can take advantage of kids activities and workshops, a veterans memorial service, and a vast selection of food, art and shopping.

BackWoods Bash

The event’s producers, along with the Make A Difference Foundation, have created a community event full of great music and activities; one that is affordable and does not try to exploit fans with the hidden costs that are usually associated with festivals. The affordable admission price includes all concerts, camping and activities.

This year the festival will be celebrating its seventh year anniversary. In keeping with tradition, the festival will be even bigger and better than the last.

HANSON has announced the first ever Hop Jam!
Hop Jam is on May 18th in the Brady Art’s district in downtown Tulsa!
This year’s American Craft Beer Week will stoke lots of activity around the country, celebrating the artisanal beer movement. In Tulsa, OK pop-rock trio HANSON, now operating as craft beer makers with the launch their debut brew Mmmhops pale Ale in 2013, will bring together brewers in their home state and musicians for a one day beer and music festival on May 18th.
Coinciding with the festival, Hanson Brothers Beer will also make their flagship Mmmhops beer available for sale online, making the beer available outside of the regional market more broadly. Online retail location will be announced next month.
The Craft beer festival will be attended by 14 breweries from across the state of Oklahoma, featuring special small batch beers made available as a part of the festival by award winning brewers and established leaders in Oklahoma craft beer. The event will also feature personal appearances by many of the brewers, appealing to the devout beer fans throughout Oklahoma and the midwest. The free concert part of the event is open to all ages, headlined by HANSON, along with blues soul powerhouse Robert Randolph and The Family Band, and more special guests still to be announced.
“Through The Hop Jam, our hope is that we can help support the craft beer community and foster a one of a kind music event, while also creating an anchor for the city’s downtown renewal”, said Taylor Hanson. Click here for more information.

Southern downtown | Starting at 5th and Boston with activities down to the 21st Street Riverparks Corridor
Free to attend | No RSVP required

Street CReD is an annual event that focuses on community redevelopment in a specific neighborhood each year by showing what Tulsa can become when it creates the change it wants to see. Our mantra: When no area of Tulsa is neglected, the entire city benefits.

Get ready for a celebration of all things walkable and bikeable downtown, as one of TYPros’ largest and most impactful events of the year returns in May with an Open Streets event that will temporarily close a mile of streets in southern downtown for use by pedestrians and bicyclists.

We need partners to help us create a festival-like atmosphere along the route. Nonprofit organizations can host “activity stops” with almost any activity — as long as it’s designed to get people out of their cars and onto their feet. More information and an application can be found at www.tulsastreetcred.com

Design contest: We are also seeking participants for a design competition to showcase how the city can best utilize a surface parking lot at the southeast corner of 10th and Boston. Details and applications for both can be found at www.tulsastreetcred.com
