wrote a piece on the struggles of lefties, and it had me rolling laughing. I’m not even a lefty! Hey lefties out there, do y’all struggle with these things too?

1. Spiral Notebooks

2. Writing in a 3-Ring Binder

3. Only one gross lefty baseball glove in gym class

4. Only two pairs of the green lefty scissors in class, three lefty kids.

5. Ballpoint pens don’t work as well because you’re pushing, not pulling the ball.

The Search for the Perfect Post-It Dispenser…

I use post its for everything. I go through them like crazy. Lately I’ve noticed all the other Dance Partners have super cute post-it dispensers, so I began my quest for my own.

It has to represent my style, you know? It has so say “I’m a professional, but I’m a FUN professional.”

Make A Difference Day is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Millions of volunteers from around the world will unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 26, 2013.

Thousands of projects are planned each year involving corporations, communities, nonprofit organizations, entire states and individuals. Many of the 250 HandsOn Network affiliates lead projects across the nation.

The stories told around Make A Difference Day show that anyone - regardless of age, location or resources - can accomplish amazing things when they take on the problems they see in their community.

Brady Arts District

Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Tulsa? I encourage you to check out the Brady Arts District Downtown.

The Brady District is one of the oldest sections of Tulsa. It is rich with cultural icons such as the Cain’s Ballroom and the Ole Lady on Brady. The buildings in the area that are still standing are primarily red brick and have been utilized as warehouses. The Brady District name is derived from Wyatt Tate Brady who arrived in Tulsa in 1890 as a shoe salesman and quickly opened one of the town’s first mercantile stores. Brady was one of the original incorporators of Tulsa and is considered a pioneer, promoter and developer of the area having built Cain’s Ballroom and the first hotel with indoor baths, the Brady Hotel. Over the past twenty years, the area has morphed into an eclectic collection of bars, restaurants and arts establishments.

The First Friday of every month the Brady District holds an Art Crawl. Art work by local Tulsa artists is displayed at restaurants for everyone to see! On the first Friday of every month, the restaurants, specialty shops and art galleries that comprise those three little blocks get a chance to really shine. Bars and restaurants stay open as late as 2a.m.! The art crawl started back in 2007 and it’s grown each year, just like the Brady District. Participating businesses include; Guthrie Green, Downtown Lounge, Cains, Brady Artist Studio, Glacier Confections, and many more all with different events for the evening! This weekend the Art Crawl becomes a bit longer having events every night including music from local musicians!
