Dirty Santa 2014

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas at SunDANCE. We had a cookie exchange and still have so much cookies for today. It was a great way to start a Monday morning (and a Tuesday Morning).

Cookie Exchange

In the afternoon Dyan gathered us all up and had gifts for us all to play Dirty Santa! We had so much fun playing and it made for a great time to end our Monday. We are very lucky to work for such a fun and caring boss. Here are some pictures of our adventures yesterday.

Games Games Games Games Games GamesI was the first one to steal a present, everyone was being too nice and I wanted to mix things up!

Do you have any fun things you do at work? We always try to find something fun to do since we work in such a small environment.

We hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Come back and visit us in 2015!

SunDANCE Thanksgiving Recipe Favorites

In celebration of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday we thought we would share some of our favorite recipes during the holiday season!

Morgan’s Honeycrisp Apple Sangria

Ingredients:
3 cinnamon sticks (plus more for garnish)
2 honeycrisp apples, chopped
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (I suggest a light-bodied Spanish variety)
1 and 3/4 cups apple cider*
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange juice (or juice from 2 medium oranges)
juice from 1 lemon
club soda, to taste

Directions:
Place the cinnamon sticks, apples, and orange slices in a large pitcher. Add wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for 6 - 24 hours. Taste; if you’d like it to be sweeter, add 1-2 Tablespoons granulated sugar, honey, or agave.

If you’d like a cinnamon-sugar rim (highly recommended), simply moisten the rim of your glasses with water, turn the glass upside down and dip it into a mix of cinnamon and sugar. Pour in the sangria with fruit* and add a splash of club soda (this unsweetened fizz is wonderful with the sangria!). Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired. Cheers!

Michelle’s Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip

Ingredients 1 (8oz) pkg Neufchatel cream cheese
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice

Instructions With a handheld mixer and large bowl, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth.
Mix in the pumpkin puree and pie spice.
Beat in the cool whip until mixed thoroughly and the beaters leave ripples in the dip.
Optional: Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
Serve with apples, pretzels, vanilla wafers or your favorite dipper

Tyler’s Oatmeal Pie

1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup molasses
3 Tbsp melted butter
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation: Place the oven rack on the lowest position of the oven and preheat to 350°F.
Whisk together the flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a medium-size bowl. Set it aside.
Whisk together the eggs, sugar, corn syrup, molasses, melted butter, vanilla in a medium-size bowl until well mixed.
Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and whisk until the mixtures are evenly incorporated. Pour the batter into the unbaked pie shell.

Tulsa Restaurant Week 2014

Tulsa Restaurant Week

Tulsa Restaurant Week is a delicious opportunity to experience the Tulsa area’s best restaurants at a great price and help fight hunger in Oklahoma!

Beginning Saturday, Sept. 6 and ending Sunday Sept. 14, more than 35 restaurants in the Tulsa area will offer delicious three-course, prix fixe lunch, brunch and dinner menus.

Most participating restaurants will offer lunch and/or brunch menus for only $12.95! Prix fixe dinner menus are available for either $25 per person, $35 per person or $35 for two. Each prix fixe meal features an appetizer, entrée and dessert and will generate an automatic 10% donation from each restaurant to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Food for Kids program.

The Food For Kids program reaches out to those kids that may be at risk of childhood hunger and insures those kids have access to meals throughout the year. In Oklahoma 1 in 4 kids is at risk to go to bed early. Let’s spend our time to eat for a good cause.

Tulsa Resturant Week

The George Kaiser Family Foundation is graciously going to match donations to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Food for Kids program up to $25,000.

Taste on Main - Rose District Event

Confession. I love food trucks, like have a very serious addiction to them. This Saturday the weather is going to be cool and fall like (which I also love) and The Rose District in Broken Arrow is capitalizing on both of those things with an event called the Taste on Main.

Taste on MainThe event will begin at 11 AM and end at 10PM. They will have the road lined with food trucks, live entertainment, and a kids zone.

If you are looking for something to do, that doesn’t involve watching football, then this is a great activity to check out!
