  1. Love the mug idea! This would be an awesome Mother’s Day or Father’s Day project in my classroom. Can you only use black Sharpies for this, I wonder? I am not very crafty, so I have not done any projects with Sharpies other than make anchor charts for my classroom. Would LOVE a set of Sharpies to start the new school year in the fall!! Thank you for the opportunity!

    • You can use any color. Decorate as you wish then put the decorated dishes in a cold oven and turn oven to 350. Let cook for 30 minutes then turn oven off and let dishes cool in oven. Remove dishes, handwash and enjoy!

  2. I used all colors of sharpies this summer at soccer camp for each team to make a team flag. I had some of the high school counselors make a Soccer Camp 2013 flag to put up at our shelter. The flags were inventive and very colorful.

  3. I love the fine tip Sharpie and the colored ones. I recycled water bottle caps and used a Sharpie to make letters for a take it to your seat spelling center.

  4. Wow some of these ideas are awesome! I’ve never heard of some of them! I use Sharpies in my classroom all the time! My students are constantly asking, can i use a Sharpie, Mrs. Adam? I don’t have enough for all my kiddos, so they share a few in a cup on my desk. :) I use them to label their stuff, label science experiment stuff, I like to freak my kids out and write on their desks with Sharpies, but then write over it with an Expo and erase! That never ceases to impress… I love the metallic Sharpies for writing on black things. We use them to write on our ROCKETS! Posters, too! I also have my kiddos use Sharpies to solve math problems so they can’t erase their work. The possibilities are endless!

  5. I LOVE using Sharpies in my classroom and at home. My students used them at the end of this last school year to sign t-shirts and beach balls with beautiful colors and designs. We also used them on old CD’s for ornaments, and on tiles (made into coasters) for Mother’s Day. I can never have enough in my classroom or home office! Thanks for the awesome ideas!

  6. I use Sharpies in my 5th grade social studies classroom when we cover Native Americans. Each student brings in a paper towel tube and designs their own totem pole. Unlike regular markers, sharpies produce a good color on the brownish tube. The don’t run, and unlike crayons, they don’t leave a waxy residue.

  7. I am a club advisor. We use Sharpies all the time to create posters for school wide projects — including dances, food drives, raffles, etc.
The kids love using the variety of colors that sharpie pens offer.
